Arguably the most popular beach in Perth, this white sand treasure is the place to see and be seen. Golden bronzed and toned bodies are the mainstay of ‘Cot’, though it is welcoming to those of all shape and sizes. It is a great swimming spot and it attracts surfers galore. Its easy access to the city by train and the strip of bars, restaurants, and fish and chip shops makes it a very attractive choice for tourists and weekend sun-seekers.
For me, this isn’t the best that Perth has to offer, but I know that many would disagree. I feel that its ease of access makes it the most popular choice, and I will agree it has some fantastic amenities, and the lawn areas for lounging are a fantastic idea; however, the crowds may be a deterrent (or perhaps a draw for some).
If you plan to come here on a weekend, why not indulge in a bit of a Sunday Sesh at Cottesloe Beach Hotel (‘the Cot’) or the Ocean Beach Hotel (OBH), two very popular pubs right across the road from the glamour.
Ultimately, I would recommend this beach to anyone, and I would expect you will enjoy it, but I think that if you are willing to put in the effort why not check out Scarborough Beach too!
My rating 3.5/5.
